8-lane elevated expressway between Noida and Greater Noida, from Kalindi Kunj Okhla to DND.

The construction of an 8-lane elevated expressway between Noida and Greater Noida will provide significant relief from traffic congestion for the thousands of people who commute along this route daily. This move is considered a crucial step towards improving connectivity.

Expressway : The government has devised a plan to provide relief to residents of Noida and Greater Noida areas located near Delhi who frequently face traffic congestion on the expressway. A new elevated expressway is set to be constructed soon; it will run from Sector-94 in Noida to Chi-4 in Greater Noida. To alleviate traffic pressure, rotaries will be built at three locations along the elevated route. Land acquisition for this 31-kilometer-long expressway will commence shortly.

The real estate sector in this area stands to gain significantly. There are approximately 50 to 70 major residential, commercial, mixed-use, and plotted developments here. Some notable projects include:

M3M The Cullinan

Supertech Supernova

Godrej Riverine

Experion Elements

ATS Greens Village

Parks Laureate

Jaypee Greens

ATS Paradiso

Eldeco Golf View Apartments

If the traffic congestion on the expressway is eliminated, how will it benefit developers and investors? It will have a major impact on developers, investors, and homeowners alike. Currently, many buyers avoid purchasing homes in certain sectors due to heavy traffic congestion during peak hours. If commuting becomes easier, more people working in Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida will consider buying homes near this corridor.

Faster Sales for Developers

It will become easier to sell projects that are currently under construction or have been recently launched.

An alternative route to avoid traffic

However, the NHAI has not yet submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this to the Noida Authority; this process is set to begin soon. The NHAI is constructing this 31-km-long elevated expressway. Currently, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway serves as the primary route for travel between Noida/Delhi via Kalindi Kunj and Greater Noida, and it experiences heavy traffic congestion. In light of this traffic situation, a proposal has been made to construct an alternative route.

During a meeting, NHAI consultant Sarabjit Singh Rana stated that they would soon submit the project’s DPR to the Noida Authority. To facilitate this, they will also conduct a survey of the entire proposed alignment route.

The expressway will pass through these areas of Noida.

This elevated expressway will originate at DND-Kalindi Kunj and run along the Yamuna Marginal Bund Road traversing the Hindon-Yamuna floodplain to reach the Yamuna Expressway. The project’s proposed alignment is expected to pass near the Noida Pushta; consequently, the meeting involved discussions regarding land acquisition and other technical challenges.

How many lanes will the elevated expressway have?

According to Noida Authority officials, the elevated expressway will span a length of 31 km. Proposals have been made to provide traffic access points at three locations along the route. The expressway will feature eight lanes, and land identification for the project is currently underway. A Detailed Project Report DPR will soon be prepared and submitted to the NHAI. The construction of this expressway will provide significant relief from traffic congestion for commuters traveling between Noida and Greater Noida.

  • It will run from Sector 94 (near Kalindi Kunj and Okhla Barrage) to Sector 150 near the Yamuna Expressway.
  • The route will be constructed along the banks of the Yamuna River.
  • It will serve as a high-speed corridor, similar to the existing, busy Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
  • The total length of the expressway will be approximately 30–31 km.
  • It will reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity.
