Plan prepared to run Namo Bharat metro train from Gurugram to Greater Noida

In a significant development for the National Capital Region, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor  one that promises to redefine how residents and commuters travel across four major cities: Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida.

The finalized DPR has been forwarded to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) for the Haryana government’s review and approval.

Project Scale & Cost

Spanning a total length of 63 kilometres, this ambitious infrastructure project carries an estimated price tag of ₹19,390 crore. The larger share of the corridor 50 km  will run through Haryana, while the remaining 13 km will pass through Uttar Pradesh. A notable highlight of the project is its integrated metro connectivity component, which will serve key zones across Gurugram, Faridabad, and Greater Noida.

Where Will the RRTS Stations Be?

The rapid rail corridor will feature seven dedicated RRTS stations:

  • Gurugram: IFFCO Chowk (interchange station), Sector 61, Gwal Pahari
  • Faridabad: Sainik Colony, Bata Chowk, Sector 87-88 Intersection
  • Noida/Greater Noida: Noida Sector 142, Surajpur

Metro Stations Under the Same Project

Beyond the RRTS stops, the integrated metro network will add several new stations across the region:

  • Gurugram (5 stations): Sector 29, Millennium City Centre, Sector 52/52A, Wazirabad, Sector 57
  • Faridabad (7 stations): NIT-3, NIT-1, Sector 12/13/14/15 Intersection, Sector 80, Sector 81/82 Intersection, Sector 85/86 Intersection, Badshahpur
  • Noida & Greater Noida (3 stations): Sector 135, Sector 141, Suthiyana

Who’s Paying for It?

The project’s funding structure involves multiple stakeholders. NCRTC plans to raise a soft loan of ₹10,102 crore. The remaining cost will be shared as follows:

  • Central Government: ₹3,367 crore
  • Haryana: ₹4,555 crore
  • Uttar Pradesh: ₹1,364 crore

What’s Happening Next?

The DPR was taken up for discussion in a board meeting chaired by Haryana’s Chief Secretary, Anurag Rastogi. According to an HMRTC official, the report is currently under active review, with inputs expected from key agencies including GMDA, HSVP, Municipal Corporation Gurugram, and concerned departments in Faridabad.

A Haryana government spokesperson confirmed that the RRTS project received detailed deliberation during the meeting, signalling that the approval process is now well underway.

Why This Matters for Property Buyers & Investors

For those eyeing real estate in Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, or Greater Noida  this is a landmark announcement. Improved rapid transit connectivity almost always drives up property demand and values in surrounding micro-markets. Localities near proposed stations, such as Gwal Pahari, Sector 57, Sector 142 Noida, and Surajpur, could see heightened investor interest in the months ahead.
